Who I am
My name is Emmanuel. During a session with me you can expect for me to give some pretty good sports examples to drive a point home. Due to love for sports, it should be no surprise that I am a big advocate for being active and its connection to a good mental health level. I say to many clients that I am not a homework giver. I will provide lots of resources for my clients to use outside of sessions, but I do not want the pressure of a check in to be the reason you tried something. I feel like a resource should be something that fits your personality and having a lot of tools in the tool kit is a great way to find out what that is. You can also expect sessions with me to be very self-reflective. I like to describe myself as a therapist that pushes his clients to think in a way that they do not normally think. Some might say I am great at playing devil's advocate, but I just think that looking at things from multiple perspectives helps a person become more solid in their own way of thinking. Lastly, I think that a person is a representation of how their family system functions, and in sessions there is a lot of conversations about how that looks and what that means.

I believe in the resiliency of people. I believe that if we can focus on our attitude and effort then we can gain a lot of control over the way our lives play out. I believe we all deserve some grace. I believe I can work with a lot of different types of people facing different types of problems. Hopefully you believe in me too!
